-資訊使用者的心理學，研究個體如何尋找、搜尋、組織、整理、整合及儲存資訊行為的研究。如：檢索資訊的方式、搜尋不到所需資訊而產生的焦慮等

※資訊v.s.知識
data資料 → information資訊 → knowledge知識 → intelligence智慧
（每個階段經過整合及熟成，方能邁進到下一階段）

※資訊行為的三大元素
-interaction 互動性(人、機)：讀者的個人化介面、人機互動、資訊系統的分類方式
-literacy 素養(人)：檢索、利用資訊所應具備的知識及技能
-uncertainty 不確定感(人)：無法搜尋到有用資訊時，會使不確定感增加，進而產生資訊焦慮
